Katie and Matt are a couple who quite simply adore each other, it is such privilege as a photographer to witness and document a couple whose lives are just meant to be shared together.  From the moment we arrived at the bridal preparations we were greeted by a very happy bride, sister and Mum who were sharing some special time getting ready together.  Katie and Matt’s entire day was celebrated at St Michael’s Manor in St Albans which offers everything you could possibly wish for if you are looking for a boutique venue with the most stunning grounds hidden in the heart of a historical city.  The wedding day for Katie and Matt flew by as they enjoyed their ceremony in the Orangery followed by a drinks reception in the sun.  One of the lovely things that stands out about this day was Matt had asked his Dad to be his Best Man, although this does of course mean there was a lot of material for the speeches…these were simply hilarious and anyone who was sat in that room will tell you…never to be forgotten! 

Lulworth Castle is an exclusive venue nestled in the idyllic Jurassic Coastline of Dorset closeby to Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. With miles of stunning scenery surrounding the castle including views of the purbecks and rolling country hills, there are so many reasons why couples fall in love with this magical place. Well…I am of course going to be a little biased on this venue having got married there myself four years ago!

Nicole and Jake’s spring wedding from April began with us arriving to photograph the bridal preparations. As we walked into the bedroom there was a scene of vintage flowers, dusky bridesmaids dresses, Jimmy Choo’s and the most stunning blush pink Tara Keeley wedding dress. As a wedding photographer, it is always exciting seeing the bride’s dress for the first time and this time most certainly did not disappoint!

The boys were getting ready for the wedding just down the road at The Weld Arms, a quaint little pub filled with rustic decor just down the road from Lulworth Castle…

An emotional ceremony at the beautiful Lulworth chapel was followed by a reception full of sunshine, laughter and love! There was a definite star of the show…their pet dog!!! Charlie enjoyed all the attention as well as managing to persuade a few guests to share their icecreams…

What an absolutely beautiful moment between Father and son.

As the day went on and the guests took their seats for dinner, a special announcement was coming which came as an amazing surprise to everyone! During the Groom’s speech, Jake announced to all their family and friends that they were not only celebrating their wedding but also the fact they are going to be parents in about six months time. You can imagine the emotion in the room when this amazing announcement was made…tears were shed and hugs were given as Jake and Nicole’s little secret was out!

As the wedding day rolled on, we took Nicole and Jake off around the grounds of Lulworth Castle for their wedding portraits together. This is such a special time for every couple as it is the only time on a wedding day where you are alone and together. It gives you a chance to catch up, have a cuddle and say ‘we did it!!!’ And how lucky were we…a sunset at the castle finished off a perfect day…..
